Science of Sound

  • by

The wondrous works of Hans Jenny and his studies of Cymatics, is the science of visualising sound frequencies. He observes that vibrating bodies produce patterns and colour pictures of sound using sand as a medium. The higher the frequency, the more complex the shapes created as they interact with vibration. Jenny also discovered that when vowels of ancient Sanskrit and Hebrew are pronounced they took the same shape of the written symbol for these vowels (our modern languages did not).

These beautiful shapes, mandalas and geometric designs are today used in mediation practices and spiritual rituals. We can now begin to imagine how the elements of sound baths effect the body, imprinting these sacred pattens, intentions and symbols at a deep cellular level. We now begin to see sound and music as a language which has a deep resonance within our cells and is possibly rooted into our DNA.
